## Build a rubric
I need a marking rubric I can hand to students before they start, not one that only makes sense to me.

Bands: [dropdown: 3 bands, 4 bands, 5 bands]
Marks: [text: total marks, or leave blank for no marks]
Work in this order:
1. Pick the 3 to 5 criteria that actually decide the grade. No more than five.
2. Write each band descriptor in second person ("You have...") so a student can place their own draft.
3. One sentence per descriptor. Make the gap between adjacent bands concrete enough that a student can tell which one they are in.
4. Add a short "before you submit" checklist in their language.
Return the rubric as a table with the checklist underneath.
