Done-Means-Verified Checklist skill for Claude and Codex
Done-Means-Verified Checklist as an AI skill. It asks for What was changed, Claims to verify, Commands available and 2 more, then does the rest. Free to…
Install it once and Claude or Codex runs it for you. When your request matches, your AI loads the skill, asks for anything it is missing, and works through the template itself. Prefer to fill it in by hand? See the full prompt template.

When it is used
Use when work is about to be called finished and every claim of success needs proof from commands actually run. Do not use for planning the work or reviewing code style. Related topics: coding, productivity.
What it will ask you for
- What was changed (longer free text)
- Claims to verify (longer free text)
- Commands available (longer free text)
- Done criteria (longer free text)
- Evidence depth (choose one: Quick, Standard, Exhaustive)
How it works
- List every claim the finished work implies, from passing tests to a bug no longer reproducing.
- Run a fresh command for each claim and read its real output instead of reusing earlier results.
- Mark each claim verified, failed or unverified with the quoted evidence or reason.
- Compare the verified results against the requester's done criteria one by one.
- Report what is proven, what is not, and what remains, leading with any failure.
What you get
A claim table with columns claim, command, result and status, followed by a short plain statement of what is proven and what is outstanding.
What it watches out for
- Quoting a test result from before the last edit, which can be stale by the time of the claim.
- Treating a command that exited quietly as a pass when it never ran the relevant tests.
- Burying a failed check under a long list of passes.
How to install
Claude.ai and the Claude desktop app
- Download the skill .zip.
- Open Settings, then Capabilities, and find Skills.
- Choose Upload skill and select the .zip.
- Ask Claude for help with the task. It loads the skill when your request matches.
Claude Code
- Download the skill .zip.
- Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ (or .claude/skills/ inside a project).
- Start a new session. Claude Code loads the skill when your request matches.
Codex
- Download the skill .zip.
- Unzip it into ~/.agents/skills/ (or .agents/skills/ inside a project).
- Codex picks it up on its own. Type $ and the skill name to use it, or just ask for the task.
Cursor
- Download the Cursor rule (.mdc).
- Save it in .cursor/rules/ inside your project.
- Cursor's agent applies the rule when your request matches its description.
AGENTS.md (Codex, Cursor, and other coding agents)
- Copy the AGENTS.md section.
- Paste it into AGENTS.md at the root of your repository, creating the file if needed.
- Coding agents that read AGENTS.md follow it when your request fits.
