# Scope Creep Response Script

Saying no to the extra request without damaging the relationship.

## How to use this skill

1. Ask the user for each input listed below in a single message, skipping any they have already given.
2. Where options are listed, offer them, but accept other answers too.
3. Fill the answers into the prompt template, then follow the completed prompt to produce the result.

## Inputs

- **What we agreed** (longer free text)
- **What they are now asking for** (longer free text)
- **How much extra work it actually is** (free text, e.g. "Hours or days")
- **Has this happened before** (choose one: First time, It has been creeping for weeks, Constantly, Long-standing good client)
- **Would I mind losing them** (choose one: Want to keep them, Neutral, Would be quietly relieved)

## Prompt template

A client has asked for something outside what we agreed.

- What we agreed: {{What we agreed}}
- What they are now asking for: {{What they are now asking for}}
- How much extra work it actually is: {{How much extra work it actually is}}
- Has this happened before: {{Has this happened before}}
- Would I mind losing them: {{Would I mind losing them}}

Draft the reply. Acknowledge the request, say clearly it sits outside the agreed scope, and offer three routes: a change order with a price, swapping it for something already in scope, or a later phase.

Warm, not defensive. Then give me a clause to put in future agreements so this conversation happens less, and what to say if they push back.
