# Differentiate a Task Three Ways

Three versions of a task you already use: support, grade level, extension.

## How to use this skill

1. Ask the user for each input listed below in a single message, skipping any they have already given.
2. Where options are listed, offer them, but accept other answers too.
3. Fill the answers into the prompt template, then follow the completed prompt to produce the result.

## Inputs

- **paste the task exactly as students see it** (longer free text)
- **subject** (free text, e.g. "subject")
- **year group** (free text, e.g. "year group")

## Prompt template

Here is a task I already use with my class:

{{paste the task exactly as students see it}}

Rewrite it three ways: a scaffolded version for students who need support, the grade level version, and an extension for the ones who finish in ten minutes. Same core skill in all three so I can run them in one room without it looking like three different lessons. Subject: {{subject}}. Year group: {{year group}}. Keep the wording at or below the reading level of the original.
