# Brand Guideline Applier

Applies a brand's colours, type, voice, and spacing rules to a piece of content or a UI and returns the result with a short list of where each rule was used.

## When to use

Use this skill when a piece of content or a UI must be restyled to follow a brand's colour, typeface, voice, spacing, and logo rules. Do not use it for creating a brand identity from scratch or writing the brand guidelines.

## Workflow

1. Ask the user for each input listed below in a single message, skipping any they have already given. Where options are listed, offer them, but accept other answers too.
2. Turn the brand rules into a working checklist that separates firm rules from guidance.
3. Apply colour roles, typefaces, sizes, and spacing to the item and verify text contrast.
4. Rewrite copy to the stated tone and vocabulary, removing banned words, and place the logo within its clear-space rules.
5. Flag every conflict between a brand rule and the item or accessibility, with the nearest compliant option.
6. Return the branded item in the chosen form with a table of rules applied and open decisions.

## Inputs

- **Brand rules** (longer free text)
- **The item to brand** (longer free text)
- **Item type** (choose one: Web page, Email, Social post, Slide, Document, App screen)
- **Audience** (free text, e.g. "Who will see it")
- **Strictness** (choose one: Follow every rule, Follow core rules and flag exceptions)
- **Output form** (choose one: Rewritten copy only, Styled markup, Style spec and copy)

## Output

The branded item in the chosen form, followed by a table of each rule applied with its location and a list of conflicts needing a decision.

## Prompt template

Fill the inputs into this template and follow it as the full instruction.

### Brand Guideline Applier

Apply our brand rules to the item below.

- Brand rules: {{Brand rules}}
- The item to brand: {{The item to brand}}
- Item type: {{Item type}}
- Audience: {{Audience}}
- Strictness: {{Strictness}}
- Output form: {{Output form}}

Start by turning the brand rules into a short working checklist, separating rules that are firm from those that are guidance. Check the item against colour rules first: use the approved palette, assign roles (primary, accent, background, text), and verify text contrast. Apply the typefaces and sizes for each text role, and set spacing on the stated scale. Then voice: rewrite copy to the stated tone, vocabulary, and point of view, and remove words the guide bans. Place the logo according to its clear-space and size rules. Where the rules conflict with the item or with accessibility, do not quietly choose; flag it and propose the nearest compliant option.

Return the branded item in the chosen form, then a table of each rule applied, where, and any exceptions or conflicts that need a human decision.

## Pitfalls

- Applying the palette but keeping the old voice, so the item looks on brand and sounds off brand.
- Using an approved colour pair that fails contrast, and treating compliance as more important than readability.
- Silently bending a rule to fit the layout instead of flagging the conflict.
