# Feature Prioritisation Matrix

A ranking you can defend when someone's pet feature comes fourteenth.

## How to use this skill

1. Ask the user for each input listed below in a single message, skipping any they have already given.
2. Where options are listed, offer them, but accept other answers too.
3. Fill the answers into the prompt template, then follow the completed prompt to produce the result.

## Inputs

- **The list** (longer free text)
- **Evidence behind each** (longer free text)
- **Rough effort** (longer free text)
- **What the business is trying to achieve this quarter** (longer free text)
- **Capacity** (longer free text)
- **Already committed** (longer free text)

## Prompt template

## Prioritising the backlog

- The list: {{The list}}
- Evidence behind each: {{Evidence behind each}}
- Rough effort: {{Rough effort}}
- What the business is trying to achieve this quarter: {{What the business is trying to achieve this quarter}}
- Capacity: {{Capacity}}
- Already committed: {{Already committed}}

Score each on reach, impact, confidence and effort, and show the working so people argue with the inputs rather than the ranking.

Be explicit where confidence is low. The loudest requests usually score worst here and that is the useful part.

Separate out anything cheap enough to just do. Then tell me what to commit to, what needs investigating first, and what to decline, with a reason I can actually say out loud to the person who asked.
