# Essay Structure Planner

A plan where the paragraphs build an argument instead of sitting in a row.

## How to use this skill

1. Ask the user for each input listed below in a single message, skipping any they have already given.
2. Where options are listed, offer them, but accept other answers too.
3. Fill the answers into the prompt template, then follow the completed prompt to produce the result.

## Inputs

- **The exact question** (longer free text)
- **Word count and level** (free text, e.g. "2500 words")
- **What I've read** (longer free text)
- **What I currently think the answer is** (longer free text)
- **Marking criteria** (longer free text)

## Prompt template

## Essay plan

- The exact question: {{The exact question}}
- Word count and level: {{Word count and level}}
- What I've read: {{What I've read}}
- What I currently think the answer is: {{What I currently think the answer is}}
- Marking criteria: {{Marking criteria}}

Start with a thesis that answers the question rather than restating the topic.

Then a paragraph-by-paragraph plan: what each one argues and what evidence carries it. Show me how they build, so paragraph four depends on paragraph three rather than being another example.

Tell me where my reading is thin and what kind of source would fix it. Include the counterargument worth taking seriously, since that is usually where the marks are.
