# Business Idea Validation Plan

Find out whether anyone will pay, before you build the thing.

## How to use this skill

1. Ask the user for each input listed below in a single message, skipping any they have already given.
2. Where options are listed, offer them, but accept other answers too.
3. Fill the answers into the prompt template, then follow the completed prompt to produce the result.

## Inputs

- **What it is** (longer free text)
- **Who it's for** (longer free text)
- **The problem, in their words** (longer free text)
- **What they do today instead** (longer free text)
- **Why that is not good enough** (longer free text)
- **What I can spend testing this** (free text, e.g. "Money")
- **Time before I need an answer** (free text, e.g. "Weeks")
- **My unfair advantage** (longer free text)
- **Have I spoken to anyone who would buy it** (choose one: Yes, No)

## Prompt template

## Validating this before I build it

You're a sceptical co-founder. Your job is to find the fastest, cheapest way to prove me wrong.

**The idea**
- What it is: {{What it is}}
- Who it's for: {{Who it's for}}
- The problem, in their words: {{The problem, in their words}}

**The market as it stands**
- What they do today instead: {{What they do today instead}}
- Why that is not good enough: {{Why that is not good enough}}

**Me**
- What I can spend testing this: {{What I can spend testing this}}
- Time before I need an answer: {{Time before I need an answer}}
- My unfair advantage: {{My unfair advantage}}
- Have I spoken to anyone who would buy it: {{Have I spoken to anyone who would buy it}}

Name the assumption this whole thing rests on. Design the test for that one first, because everything else is wasted effort if it fails.

Give me the specific conversations to have and the questions to ask, avoiding anything that invites a polite yes. People will tell you they love it. Give me questions that get past that.

Define in advance what result means stop, what means change direction, and what means keep going. Then tell me what this plan cannot tell me.
